Hello Everyone,
I know this took awhile to get going, but we are starting to rock and roll. I will be commenting on your blogs all next week. Remember that you must have 5 done by Friday next week. We are not going to do any more LOF blogs. However, we will be using the blogs for every unit. I expect each blog to have correct punctuation, correct spelling and all your work must be cited MLA style. I will show you how if you have any questions. Also remember to comment on everyone's blog some time this week.

My third paragraph for my final:
ReplyDeleteThe most disgousting part of Truman's fake world was the fact that he was kept from his own family; his own flesh and blood. Every human being should be exposed to his family throughout their life no matter what. Family is support and the definition of true love. No real love was experienced in Truman's life while he was on set. It was so saddening to see Truman miss out on the true importance of life. Because of this, Truman seems to shut himself out from his "world." He wants to travel and stay away from his greedy actress of a wife and neighbors. When Truman sees his fake father again from when he was younger and supposedly died, he becomes immediately anxious to come into contact with him but he is of course stopped from doing so. Since that event, he was determined to find out the truth of what was going on. That easily showed how much Truman needed a family in his solemn life.

Choose to use "is" or "was". They are the same verb but one is past tense and the other is present tense.
In the part: family; his own flesh and blood" did you mean to change the semi colon to something different??

ReplyDeleteAlong with seeing his dad, Truman met a girl named Sylvia that brought him some temporary joy. As usual, she was immediately taken away from him. For some reason, the producer of the show refused to let Truman experience love. Everyone deserves a companion in life and it's not right that Truman was forced to miss out on that experience also. Sadly, people can be greedy enough to keep someone away from their family and forming companionship.
The director wanted Truman to express love but it had to be "pre approved love". Everything was about the set up for an audience. They weren't wanting to watch real relationships; they wanted to watch pretend "perfect" relationships. This helps the viewer escape their own life. Remember that Truman was never kept away from his true relationships because he was an orphan as a baby.

I love your ides but I am going to ask you to zero in on better verb choices and stay focused on saying something important rather than repeating an idea. I know you will produce a great piece. By the way, keep the rest of the last paragraph. It is good.
